Virtual Board Of Education Meeting

BOARD MEETING DATE/TIME: May 27, 2020, at 5:30 p.m.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
The Westwood Heights Schools Board of Education believes it is an important part of its engagement with and accountability to the community to provide an opportunity for public comment during school board meetings. In response to public gathering restrictions now in place due to the coronavirus, and in the spirit of maintaining an opportunity for our public to participate in these virtual school board meetings, we are offering interested persons an opportunity to submit written public comment.

During a typical WWH Board of Education meeting, there are two opportunities for individuals to address the board. While functioning under this virtual meeting environment, the opportunite to submit written public comment will open when the meeting begins at approximately 5:30 p.m. and close shortly after each public comment section is reached on the agenda.

At the appropriate time, submit your question/comment through the chat feature.  Or, you may raise your hand to indicate that you would like to address the board.  When addressing the Board during public comments, please keep your comments professional, avoid the use of inappropriate language, and refrain from identifying individuals by name in the event of a complaint. All comments submitted become a matter of public record and are subject to release under Michigan law and the federal Freedom of Information Act. As with inperson public comments made during a traditional school board meeting, Board members reserve the right to withhold comment in order to conduct any research necessary and determine the appropriate individual to follow up with the speaker at a later time.
